Hey! I'm Arik, the founder and owner of Hunterlockx - Crochet Dreadlocks & More.. Dreadlock Extensions. I have had dreadlocks since i was 15 and in highschool around 2009 and started doing dreadlocks at my moms house around 2010... just every now and then when a friend wanted locs or something. Since then I've practiced by doing my own dreads every month or so as I developed my educational background which includes advanced braiding classes, cosmetology school, and college for business/art & technology. My parents are Black, White, and Lebanese so I grew up in a diverse culture and we traveled a lot since my birth in Alabama because they were in the military.. I basically grew up in Florida, moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to continue my music career which brought me to london in 2017. The whole time during my travels I could never get away from naturally doing dreads for others as a side job due to people asking for dredlock services or where to find it due to the routine maintenance I was doing on mine.. so I inevitably moved back to Florida in 2018 for a slower paced environment (where I had citizenship) to gain some experience starting a business... by then focusing primarily on dreadlocks and hair. In the beginning alot of time was spent studying the science behind dreadlocks and developing my craft crocheting hair, while I developed the brand and obtained the licensing to become a legal corporation with employees. Now I cater to new dreadheads all over the world and am still in the process of growing Hunterlockx's reach as a business and will soon launch a Hunterlockx school to teach others about dreadlocks!
